Malcolm couldn’t believe what the fuck he was listening to as he sat inside his den watching the six o’clock news on Fox. He sat listening to the correspondent reporting about the murder of known drug dealer Victor White, who was the younger brother of known drug lord Travis White. Malcolm shook his head in confusion on what the hell was going on. He thought about Lucky’s murder and his whole crew; then the murder of Pam, Cash’s younger sister; and now Victor White.

“What the fuck is going on around here?” Malcolm asked out loud, just as Moses entered the den.

“Your pops is on the phone,” Moses told Malcolm, handing him the cell phone that he brought inside the den.

Malcolm sighed loudly when he took the phone from Moses, already knowing what he was about to hear from his father. Malcolm then took a breath, and after releasing it, he placed the phone up to his ear.

“Yeah, Pops! What’s up?”

“You mind telling me exactly what’s going on in my city?” Malcolm Sr. asked. “What’s this with Victor White being murdered in my city?”

“Pops, I’m trying to figure all of that—!”

“You trying to what?” Malcolm Sr. stated, cutting off his son. “Explain to me how it’s that you’re unable to tell me what’s going on in my city? I left you all the keys to run the city, and you’re telling me you have no idea what’s going on! Find out who’s responsible for what the fuck is going on inside my city, and I want to know soon, Malcolm! Are we clear?”

Malcolm never got a chance to respond to his father, hearing him hang up on him. Malcolm caught himself before throwing the phone across the room. Instead, he just tossed the phone onto the coffee table and sighed loudly in utter confusion and aggravation.
